Water worries?!

For like almost 3 years now, I have always been puzzled why I would always get red, itchy, hive-looking marks on my chest, shoulders and face--and it will always appear at a very random time. I would also complain why my hair is dry, etc. etc. etc...

Of course, I will always associate my misery to my allergies which sometimes doesn't make sense anymore. So, i did some more research and it sounded like i may be sensitive to our laudry detergent and fabric softener...So, I decided to switch to a different one--I told myself that if doesn't work, I would switch to an organic laundry detergent....Thought I found the answer, cause for awhile, I was quite happy...Until about 2 weeks ago, i started having some hive-looking marks again and i didn't even eat anything to trigger it! Geez---i am getting tired of this!

I randomly talked about this to my friend and she told me that it might be our water...Water? Unbelievable! That can't be...uhmmm...now I am not sure! 

So, I did some research and reading and guess what I found out? The chlorine content of the water in the city I live in, is high enough to cause the irritations I am experiencing and dryness of hair.

This is just crazy. But i have to be pro-active and not complain. We decided to buy a shower filter.

This Culligan shower head filter is known to eliminate 99.9% of the chlorine. So let's see if this will resolve my issues--oh wait, not just my issues! I found out that my niece too is having the same reactions as me--and Jay too! They kept quiet about it thinking it was nothing!

I can't wait to get it. Hopefully it will arrive this weekend!

We are just full of blessings...By February of 2011, there will be a new addition to the family! How exciting is that?!

Jeff and Cristel are expecting and yesterday 9.22.2010, they found out they'll be having a baby girl! Another PRINCESS! Baby Sophia will soon have a cousin and a playmate! Yay!
We're all ecstatic about this....

Ok--I just love our baby Sophie! She is just adorable and i love her cute little face! She makes us all smile whenever we get pictures of her! Too bad, it's quite a drive to go to Vallejo, so i would always just look forward to pictures that her mom would send me...

I woke up really early and decided to clean the apartment a little bit--the entire family is coming over!!!

Jay and I miss them. It's been a few weeks since we spent some time with them.

Anyway, I started tidying the place and while I was doing it, I realized that I forgot to think of what to cook for lunch! I really spaced out and i was starting to panic since the family will be here in like---uhmmm---4 hours!

I ran to the fridge and looked for something I could easily prepare. Well, I decided that I will just roast some chicken and make some pasta. I was lacking of some ingredients so i needed to drive quickly to Safeway. My plan was a success. I finished cooking like 11:15 and they arrived 5 minutes after! Phew!

After lunch, we all decided to go bowling. The kids were excited. Jay, Noel, Cathy, Mama, May, Alyssa, Miguel and Anthony all played and I decided to just hang out. i was pretty tired! So watching them was all I can think of as of that moment.

Class of 2014, New Student Orientation

Working at an academic institution has always been very rewarding and working at Stanford University gave it more value.

This week is New Student Orientation for the class of 2014. 1675 kids came on Tuesday to move in to their dorm. Our office staff helped them move in--it was fun! Fun to work with the people you like...

Saturday, September 4, 2010, Sophie is 1 week old! Yay! She is looking healthier, prettier and bigger! We adore her so much....

Myka and Kao are doing fine and have been adjusting really well to the new addition!

They stayed for a few hours for all of us to enjoy Sophie. She opened her eyes and is starting to look around. Her cute little eyes truly captures your attention. Every time she opens it, we would all gather around her and would just look at her...

Can't wait till the next weekend we would see her.

Cupcakes

I am having fun making some cupcakes and now I feel like getting a quality bakeware and a good cupcake recipe book....but is it worth it? Or is this just another past time that I will get over with?
